Synopsis

Portugal had been recovering after the reforms following the end of “The Great Cyber War” years prior. Trust was now returning to the economy. The successful prosecution of the recently captured hacker and rebel ringleader Dr. Vilar, would be a show of force for the government, clearly establishing that the days of corruption were now behind them, as they re-integrated back into the eurozone. Dr. Vilar, once responsible for the cyber attack that devastated Lisbon’s power grid, had spent the majority of his exile in London, England, from which he ran his criminal enterprise, until one day he was mysteriously betrayed…

Dr. Vilar is an upcoming project, set to be released in 2024. It is a dystopian thriller that follows the character of Vilar, who is released from prison and embarks on a journey that takes him through a dark, unsettling Lisbon after the war. 

The project is written and directed by Wynton Guess, an American multifaceted artist who has been living in Portugal for the past four years. Guess has worked as a filmmaker, writer, and music composer, and has received critical acclaim for his work in each of these fields. Dolores is also involved in the project as a co-director and director of photography.

Dr. Vilar is set in Lisbon, Portugal, and is described as a love letter to the city. It incorporates elements of poetry and film noir, creating a unique and immersive atmosphere that draws the viewer in and keeps them engaged throughout the story.
